NYC visit yesterday: MOMA, Neue Gallery, Guggenheim

NYC is always inspiring for this artist... I approach the opportunity as such. Yesterday was fulfilling, in particular the gallery at Neue with the Dix collection.
I like to look at the paintings from just a few inches away and see the brush strokes... I marvel at the compositions and color choices and subtle skills, visible, if I can detect them... as I did with his work. He was able to paint and draw in so many styles that it appeared he was different artists. To me this is brilliant. His work is rather morbid and can be ugly, but that's no deterrant....in fact it is fascinating for me.
I also noticed another artist or two who made me excited: Klimt, Picasso (he too has such a variety of work, some traditional and formal and others radical and futuristic!), FrantiĊĦek Kupka...
